The Virelade Hound is a large, lean French pack hound with a short white-and-black coat, a long head, and long dropped ears. The outline is that of a Gascon running hound.

The Virelade Hound is a French pack hound associated with the Gascon-Saintongeois and the kennels of Baron de Virelade. It was used on wolf in earlier centuries and on deer and other large game later. The UKC classes it as a Scenthound.

Temperament
